At least 30 people were injured after a car plowed into a crowd in Los Angeles; 13 victims are in critical condition. The incident occurred outside a concert venue where people were waiting to enter.

Images released by the American press show several injured individuals on the street and sidewalk after a vehicle crashed into a crowd gathered outside a nightclub in Los Angeles, near Hollywood.

Local residents and witnesses reported hearing gunfire prior to the incident.

"I live nearby, and I heard the gunshot. When I looked, I saw a young man fall, and I ran to him because I'm an emergency medical professional. When I got there, I saw he had been shot in the leg. One girl had a leg injury, and another was also struck by the car," recounted Juliet Bretches, a Los Angeles resident.

"The car came at full speed. It's possible it lost control, drove onto the sidewalk, and hit them there. People were ordering food or getting ready to place an order; everyone was preparing to go inside," another witness said.

Firefighters confirmed the vehicle crashed into the crowd in front of The Vermont Hollywood music club.

"It appears a vehicle with an unconscious person inside crashed into a taco truck, went through a stand, and ultimately struck the crowd of people outside a club. At this time, we have a total of 31 patients. The investigation is still ongoing," stated Adam Vangerpen, Public Information Officer for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Authorities are investigating the tragedy, but no details have yet been released regarding the causes or the driver's identity.
