Moldovan firefighters tackle greece wildfire
The team of Moldovan rescuers and firefighters, deployed to Greece, responded to a new mission near the town of Nafpaktos.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), the Moldovan firefighters battled the flames under challenging conditions, typical of wildfires in forested areas.
After several hours of joint efforts, the fire, which affected an area of approximately 20 hectares (50 acres), was extinguished, preventing its spread to other areas.
This operation is being carried out as part of an international disaster relief mission under the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism.
The Moldovan firefighters will continue to participate in wildfire extinguishing missions, depending on the evolving operational situation in the region.
