"I assure you that Romania will continue to be at your side in the efforts to overcome the current crises and hybrid pressures to which the Republic of Moldova is subjected (...) I would like to thank you for this visit and assure you of Romania's full support for everything that means the European path of the Republic of Moldova. We remain open to all your needs for support. I wish you success in this mandate. The door of the Romanian government remains always open for you", said Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă.

For his part, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Dorin Recean, thanked the Government of Bucharest for the support it has provided to the Republic of Moldova over the years, especially in overcoming the energy crisis caused by the war unleashed by the Russian Federation in Ukraine. The official said that the close relationship between Chisinau and Bucharest is strengthened today by numerous projects, implemented for the benefit of citizens on both sides of the Prut, both in the field of education, culture, as well as in areas such as defence, infrastructure, economy or security.

"We can make the most of this potential on the left and right banks of the Prut", said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

On his first visit abroad since taking office today, Prime Minister Dorin Recean reiterated in Bucharest that Moldova's goal remains European integration. The official stated that the institutions in Chisinau would be consulted by experts in Bucharest in order to facilitate our country's integration into the EU and open up opportunities for accession. At the same time, Dorin Recean gave assurances, in the context of the war at the border of our country, that "the Republic of Moldova is fulfilling its role of defending peace and security in the region".

"We know that the Republic of Moldova is not alone in the face of challenges and we thank you", concluded Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

Today, 1 March, Prime Minister Dorin Recean is making his first visit abroad since taking office. The Prime Minister's agenda in Bucharest, previously announced by the Government, is focused on three priorities: deepening the close Moldovan-Romanian relationship, focusing on Moldova's economic recovery, developing cooperation in the energy sector, and discussing important infrastructure projects.
