Parliamentary elections: CEC received applications from three aspiring independent candidates

Three individuals announced their intention to run as independent candidates in the upcoming parliamentary elections. They have submitted their applications to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC). The potential candidates are Natalia Clevadî, Victoria Sanduța, and Victor Grosu.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announced that applications were received on Monday, July 21.
The signatories requested the issuance of subscription lists to independently gather the necessary signatures.
In this context, CEC representatives remind that, for independent candidates to be registered, they must submit, in addition to a set of documents required by the legal framework, subscription lists containing the signatures of at least 2,000 and no more than 2,500 eligible voters who support them.
"By way of exception, a female candidate may submit the signatures of at least 1,000 and no more than 2,500 supporters who have the right to vote," the CEC press release states.
It is essential to note that the period for submitting documents for the registration of candidates for the position of Deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova commenced on Sunday, July 20, and will conclude on August 19.
