Chișinău–Bucharest strategic partnership strengthened through talks between Dorin Recean and Oana-Silvia Țoiu

The bilateral partnership between Moldova and Romania, along with Romania's strong support for the Republic of Moldova's European path, were key topics discussed during today's meeting on July 22. This meeting involved Prime Minister Dorin Recean and the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana-Silvia Țoiu, who is on an official visit to Chișinău.

Prime Minister Recean expressed his commitment to further deepening the strategic partnership with Romania, highlighting that "the progress of the Republic of Moldova in its European path is also due to Romania's constant support."

Minister Țoiu emphasized that the strategic partnership between Chișinău and Bucharest is founded on mutual trust and solidarity. She stated, "Romania will remain a voice for the Republic of Moldova in the European Union."

During the meeting, the officials also discussed ongoing joint projects in various fields, particularly those related to energy interconnection. This includes the construction of the Vulcănești-Chișinău and Bălți-Suceava power lines, as well as infrastructure projects like the bridge over the Prut at Ungheni and four additional road bridges.

In terms of economic cooperation, the Bucharest official assured that Romania remains Moldova's primary trading partner and holds the top position among foreign investors in the Republic of Moldova.

Additionally, today, July 22, Minister Oana-Silvia Țoiu met with her Moldovan counterpart, Mihai Popșoi, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Chișinău.
