PM Dorin Recean met with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in Bucharest. What they discussed
The Romanian government will strongly support Moldova's European agenda, the reconstruction of the economy, the implementation of reforms and the strengthening of our country's security. Prime Minister Dorin Recean's interest in pursuing joint projects for the benefit of the citizens of both countries was reiterated during his meeting with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.
The Head of the Executive appreciated Romania's prompt reaction to the needs of the Republic of Moldova, underlining the support that has always boosted the authorities' response to crises.
"Moldova and Romania have a very special relationship - stronger every day, and Romania's experience in the process of accession to the European Union is of great help. Our hope is to make progress as quickly as possible, so that by the end of this year we can start EU accession negotiations and find ourselves in the big European family as soon as possible," Prime Minister Dorin Recean was quoted as saying by the Government.
He also said that Romania remains Moldova's most important economic partner and the main market for Moldovan products. In this context, the parties discussed investment and business opportunities offered by our market.
President Klaus Iohannis, in turn, reconfirmed Romania's commitment to provide full support in the transformation, modernisation and reform implementation processes, in the spirit of the bilateral Strategic Partnership for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, based on the community of language, culture and history.
