Renowned composer Eugen Doga celebrates his 86th birthday. Maia Sandu: " We are lucky to be contemporaries of this musical genius

The famous composer and academician Eugen Doga turns 86 today, 1 March. President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, has sent a congratulatory message to Doga, wishing him "health and energy to continue his creative mission".

"In Moldova, spring also begins with a symphony of the soul - today is the birthday of Maestro Eugen Doga and I wish him, on this occasion, good health and energy to continue his creative mission. We are lucky to be contemporaries of this musical genius, whose creation is a true messenger of love and peace. Happy birthday, Maestro!", wrote President Maia Sandu on her Facebook page.

Born on the first day of spring in the village of Mocra, Râbnița district, Eugen Doga became known and appreciated on all continents thanks to his work covering all musical genres. He wrote music for about 200 films; romances, cantatas, instrumental pieces, symphonies, songs, etc. The famous composition from the film "Tandra and My Gentle Beast" by Eugen Doga is called "the most beautiful love waltz of the 20th century".
