International probe uncovers 21 Plahotniuc fake IDs

Vladimir Plahotniuc and Constantin Țuțu were found in possession of dozens of identification documents issued by multiple states, bearing different names, photographs, and dates of birth.
According to information relayed by Greek authorities to the Moldovan Police, documents seized during searches at Athens airport and the residences of the two individuals revealed an extensive network of false identities.
The former Moldovan Democratic Party leader held at least 21 identification documents, issued by seven different states: the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Bulgaria, Vanuatu, and Iraq. Among the discovered documents are:
Passports from:
- Vanuatu – AL SHAHEEN Fereyduon Shaheen Yako
- Iraq – AL SHAHEEN Fereyduon Shaheen Yako
- Russian Federation – KIRSANOV Stanislav, TAUSHANOV Mihail
- Ukraine – TAUSHANZHY Mykhailo
- Romania – ANTOHE Mihai, PLAHOTNIUC Vladimir
- Republic of Moldova – PLAHOTNIUC Vladimir
- Bulgaria – TAUSHANOV Mihail
Driver's Licenses issued in:
- Romania – ANTOHE Mihai
- Ukraine – TAUSHANZHY Mykhailo
- Moldova – PLAHOTNIUC Vladimir
- Russia – KIRSANOV Stanislav, TAUSHANOV Mihail
- Bulgaria – TAUSHANOV Mihail
ID Cards:
- Romania – ANTOHE Mihai (with two different photographs)
- Vanuatu – AL SHAHEEN Fereyduon Shaheen Yako
- Bulgaria – TAUSHANOV Mihail
In total, Plahotniuc utilized at least five false identities, each with corresponding documents from multiple states. In some cases, the same name appeared on different documents, but with distinct photographs, dates of birth, and nationalities.
Constantin Țuțu also engaged in similar practices. According to authorities, documents bearing the names SÎLI Andrie / SILI Andrie, issued by Romania and Bulgaria, were discovered in his possession:
- Romanian passport, issued on November 7, 2022
- Romanian ID card, issued on September 5, 2024
- Romanian driver's license, issued on April 18, 2023
- Bulgarian ID card
- Bulgarian residence permit
The Moldovan Police stated that following the detention of the two Moldovan citizens in Greece, official requests were sent to other states to establish the authenticity of the documents and obtain additional information regarding the identities and potential complicity. The international investigation is ongoing.
