Moldova & Israel boost ties: Economic & diplomatic relaunch

The Republic of Moldova and the State of Israel aim to relaunch the Moldovan-Israeli Intergovernmental Commission's activity to strengthen economic cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, green energy, healthcare, education, and tourism.

The announcement was made by Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi, following today's meeting with his Israeli counterpart, Gideon Sa'ar, who is on an official visit to Chisinau.

"We aim to relaunch the Moldovan-Israeli Intergovernmental Commission's work – an important mechanism for stimulating trade, carrying out joint projects, and attracting investments," Mihai Popșoi stated.

Moldova's top diplomat also mentioned that the inauguration of the Israeli Embassy in Chisinau in February will significantly contribute to the development of bilateral relations.

Later in the day, the two officials will jointly participate in the 'Stolpersteine' commemoration ceremony and visit the Jewish Community Center in Chisinau, as a sign of respect for the memory of Holocaust victims. During the visit, Minister Gideon Sa'ar will also hold meetings with the Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu. Additionally, the Israeli minister will meet with representatives of the Jewish community in Chisinau.
