Moldova aids Greece in wildfire fight: IGSU teams helped extinguish flames in Corinthia

Firefighters from the Republic of Moldova, currently in Greece, completed their fourth mission to extinguish a forest fire in the Mati region of Corinthia. Utilizing five units of equipment, they provided assistance to their Greek colleagues in response to the outbreak of a vegetation fire.
The mission is being conducted under the European Union's Civil Protection Mechanism, and Moldovan firefighters will continue to participate in similar operations as the situation evolves in the region.
Recently, a fire that affected 20 hectares in a forested area near Nafpaktos, Greece, was extinguished with the assistance of Moldovan rescuers.
We would like to remind you that from July 14 to August 1, a specialized team from the Republic of Moldova, consisting of 22 personnel and six specialized technical units, is engaged in monitoring, patrolling, and intervention missions to extinguish forest fires in the Hellenic Republic.
