Moldovan family's sweet success in rural Recea

Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Chișinău, the Huțuțui couple, parents of seven children, returned to their home village of Recea, Râșcani district, to build a thriving family sweets business.

They launched five years ago with a modest laboratory, and over time, they also opened a few cafes in the locality.

Natalia Huțuțui has been passionate about desserts since childhood. Daily, driven by her passion, she meticulously crafts a diversified menu featuring over 30 products – ranging from personalized cakes to an array of pastries served to customers.

"Most of all, I've strived to preserve the traditional recipes inherited from my mother. But it's clear that I've modernized and modified some of them, especially regarding decorations," Natalia Huțuțui told us.

The sheer volume of work is evident: every week, the Huțuțui family bakes almost 40 kilograms of pastry products.

"This work is not easy, but I work with passion and love because I enjoy it. I hardly notice the hours I spend on my feet."

"For now, we continue to invest, and we're seeing things grow step by step. Thanks to our cafes, development is steady, and we are very hopeful for the future," says entrepreneur Sorin Huțuțui.

Crucially, a grant of approximately 180,000 lei, secured through the "Start for Youth" program from the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, enabled the Huțuțui family to acquire modern equipment for production, storage, and transport, significantly boosting their capabilities.
