Tragic crash in Leova: Man killed, wife and daughter injured by drunk driver

A serious road accident occurred on Monday evening, July 28, in the city of Leova. A 52-year-old man died at the scene, while his wife and daughter were taken to the hospital after their car was struck head-on by a driver who was heavily intoxicated.
According to the police, the accident occurred when a 29-year-old man drove his car in the wrong direction, colliding head-on with another vehicle that was travelling legally.
Following the impact, the 52-year-old driver of the second vehicle died at the scene. His 45-year-old wife and their 17-year-old daughter were also in the car; both sustained injuries and were urgently transported to the hospital for medical care.
The driver who caused the accident was tested with a "Drager" device, which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 1.23 mg/l in his exhaled air. He received medical assistance and was then taken to the hospital.
The police are continuing their investigation to determine all the circumstances of the accident.
