President Maia Sandu after meeting with European Commissioner Didier Reynders: "We will make the law equal for all"

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had a meeting today in Chisinau with the European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders. The two officials discussed the progress of justice reform in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the resistance in the system to the reforms initiated by the authorities. The head of state announced that during the meeting she reconfirmed the determination of the Chisinau authorities to make the law equal for all.

"The European Union will continue to support us in our efforts to clean up the justice system and strengthen institutions to fight corruption. Those who do not appreciate these efforts are the compromised people in the judiciary. We will continue to change things in this system and we will work with those who are ready for change and want the Moldovan justice system to regain the trust of its citizens and make the law a priority," said President Maia Sandu.

European Commissioner Didier Reynders is paying an official visit to Moldova today. He met in Chisinau with Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru.
