The CEC has a new member. Who is Tatiana Barburos
At its plenary session today, 2 March, the Parliament appointed a new member of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC). Fifty-five of the MPs present at the session supported the candidacy of Tatiana Barburos for the post. The new Commission member was sworn in at today's plenary session.
Tatiana Barburos has worked in the State Chancellery since 2010 in various positions: legal officer and senior specialist in the Chisinau Territorial Office of the State Chancellery, deputy head of the Legal Department, senior consultant in the Legal Expertise Department, in the Government Acts Department and in the Public Administration Department.
Under the law, the Central Electoral Commission has nine members - eight appointed by Parliament and one by the President. CEC members are irreplaceable and cannot be members of parties or other socio-political organisations.
