Government appoints new Secretary of State at Finance Ministry and new Integrity Council member
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the appointment of a new Secretary of State at the Ministry of Finance and a new member of the Integrity Council on Wednesday, July 30.
Corina Alexa was appointed as the State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance. The nomination was presented by the Minister of Finance, Victoria Belous.
"Corina Alexa holds a degree in Economics and a master's degree in Public Finance and Taxation. She was employed at the Ministry of Finance since 2009 and played an active role in developing the legislative framework in the areas of taxation and customs. Additionally, she has been involved in negotiating conventions to avoid double taxation with other countries and in harmonizing national legislation with European regulatory standards," the minister stated during the Government meeting.
At the same meeting, the State Secretary of the Government, Ana Calinici, proposed terminating Alexandru Coica's mandate as a member of the Integrity Council following his resignation. She also recommended the appointment of Andrei Cebotari as a member of the Integrity Council for a term of five years.
“Andrei Cebotari will contribute to ensuring the transparency of the National Integrity Authority's activities by monitoring the institution and assessing compliance with integrity norms,” said Calinici.
Both proposals were unanimously supported by the Cabinet of Ministers.
