No. 2 on ballot: CEC registers new parliamentary candidate

On Wednesday, July 30, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) registered the electoral list of the “Democracy at Home” Party, which includes 62 candidates, for the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28, 2025. The decision came after the party’s initial attempt to register was rejected due to procedural irregularities.
At the same meeting, the Central Electoral Commission also registered the party’s electoral symbol for participation in the September 28, 2025 parliamentary elections, confirmed the party’s representative to the CEC for the electoral period, and appointed the person responsible for campaign finances (treasurer).
The “Democracy at Home” Party, led by Vasile Costiuc, was previously denied registration on July 22 due to legal irregularities in compiling its candidate list.
Specifically, the CEC found that the minutes designating the candidates were issued before the official submission period began, and only 14 out of the 52 listed candidates had personally signed the required documents—below the legal minimum of 51.
After correcting the issues, the party resubmitted its documents and will now appear as number two on the ballot.
So far, the only other registered list for the September 28 elections is that of the Action and Solidarity Party.
The official campaign for the parliamentary elections begins on August 29, 2025.
