ELECTIONS 2025 // The Patriotic Bloc of Socialists, the Heart and Future of Moldova, registered by the CEC for the parliamentary elections on September 28

On Sunday, August 3, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) registered the "Patriotic Bloc of Socialists, the Heart and Future of Moldova" to participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28. This decision was made after the bloc's representatives addressed and corrected all previously identified discrepancies in the documents submitted to the central electoral authority.
The political bloc consists of three parties: the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova, the Republican Party "Heart of Moldova," and the Party for the Future of Moldova. The Party of Communists is not part of this new political entity, contrary to earlier announcements that suggested there would be four parties.
An agreement was reached to establish the bloc, leading to the formation of a political committee. This committee is made up of three co-chairs—Igor Dodon, Irina Vlah, and Vasile Tarlev—and six members, with each party appointing two members.
The political committee is responsible for nominating candidates, approving the electoral strategy, and designating representatives to interact with the Central Electoral Commission (CEC). The co-chairs have also been given the authority to sign official documents on behalf of the bloc.
The bloc’s electoral symbol has been officially registered; it features a five-pointed star with a black heart in the center.
During a recent meeting with the CEC, representatives from the bloc's member parties denied any association with a flashmob that occurred on the day they submitted their registration documents for the electoral race, which involved the presentation of a coffin in front of the central electoral authority.
