Moldova wins silver at International Olympiad in Informatics
The Republic of Moldova secured a silver medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics, which took place in Sucre, Plurinational State of Bolivia, from July 27 to August 3 this year.
Alin Popescu, a 9th-grade student at "Orizont" Lyceum in Durlești, Chișinău municipality, won the medal.
The Moldovan team consisted of four students from educational institutions in Chișinău, along with two teachers: Sergiu Corlat, PhD in Exact Sciences and Vice-Rector for Digitalization at the State University of Moldova, and Igor Bercu, Head of the Department at the Electronic Governance Agency.
According to the Ministry of Education and Research, a total of 334 students from 87 countries participated in the 37th edition of the International Olympiad in Informatics.
