Nicu Popescu meets the ambassadors of the EU countries accredited in Chisinau
The head of diplomacy of the Republic of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, had a meeting with the ambassadors of the European Union member countries accredited in Chisinau, in the context of the one-year anniversary of the submission of the application for the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU, announces the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE).
At the beginning of the discussion, the officials reviewed the main achievements of the Republic of Moldova in the last year. "I thanked the European partners for the support given to the Republic of Moldova in its aspiration to become a member of the EU. I also informed the EU ambassadors about the progress made in the implementation of the nine recommendations of the European Commission and the alignment with the community acquis. I emphasized the fact that joining the European Union is the best way to ensure our peace, stability and prosperity", said Nicu Popescu.
At the same time, according to the MAEIE, the diplomats also discussed the preparations for the summit of the European Political Community that will take place in June in our country, being proof of the firm commitment of the Republic of Moldova to support the common goal of a peaceful and stable Europe.
