78 raids across Moldova over illegal financing, electoral corruption
On the morning of Thursday, August 7, law enforcement officers are conducting 78 searches in several localities across the Republic of Moldova. This is part of a criminal investigation into illegal financing and voter corruption, as announced by the General Inspectorate of Police.
The operations are conducted by officers from the National Investigation Inspectorate (INI) and police officers from the BPDS "Fulger," with the assistance of local police divisions and prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS).
Preliminary information shows that the searches are aimed at members and supporters of a criminal organisation.
