BBC: Casualties following a serious fire at a fuel depot in Jakarta, Indonesia

Authorities in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, said at least 17 people, including two children, lost their lives in a huge fire that broke out at a fuel depot of a state-owned company, the BBC reports.

Dozens of people were injured, many being taken to hospital with serious burns. The fire broke out on Friday evening at a warehouse in the north of the Indonesian capital and spread to several nearby homes. The fire, which was extinguished in a few hours, led to the evacuation of densely populated neighborhoods near the warehouse, the authorities said.
