The answer to Ukraine's territorial problem is already provided for in the Constitution. No one will give this up, nor can they.

Ukrainians will not surrender their land to the occupier," said Kyiv's leader, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a Saturday morning video message, as quoted by Deutsche Welle.

His statement came on the eve of a possible meeting in the United Kingdom of representatives from Ukraine, the U.S., and several European countries to formulate a common position ahead of the summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, scheduled for August 15 in Alaska.

Zelenskyy also emphasized that Ukraine "is prepared for real solutions that can bring peace." In his view, any other solutions "will accomplish nothing." "These are dead-end solutions that will never work," he added, noting that Russia must be the one to end the war.

During an August 6 teleconference with Zelenskyy and several European leaders, Trump informed them about the results of Witkoff's meeting with Putin, according to the publication Axios. Witkoff initially claimed that Putin had agreed to end the war if Ukraine ceded the Luhansk, Donetsk, and the annexed Crimea regions to Moscow. However, during a subsequent conversation, sources from the publication claim, Witkoff clarified that the proposal was to freeze positions along the current front line in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. This would, among other things, mean the Russian Federation's control over the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, according to Deutsche Welle.
