Direct flights Chișinău to Sofia starting Oct 2025

Beginning October 26, 2025, passengers at Chișinău International Airport "Eugen Doga" will have the opportunity to fly directly from the Republic of Moldova to Bulgaria's capital, Sofia.
Flights will be operated by a low-cost carrier four times a week: every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The city of Sofia is a perfect blend of historical landmarks, modern restaurants, a vibrant cultural scene, and easy access to the Rila or Pirin mountains, which are ideal for hiking, winter sports, or nature getaways. In the summer, Bulgaria remains a top vacation destination for many Moldovans, with Black Sea resorts like Sunny Beach, Nessebar, Albena, and Golden Sands, known for their hospitality, spectacular landscapes, and affordable prices, according to a press release from Chișinău International Airport.
"We want more and more travelers from the Republic of Moldova to have access to smart and efficient flight options, and this new route is a clear example of the direction we're heading," said Anastasia Novak, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air. "It's part of the product-oriented pillar of the Customer First Compass initiative, which focuses on continuously improving the flight experience and expanding our route portfolio. This includes both on-board comfort and efficient direct flights between major European cities."
"The announcement of the direct flight to Sofia by our partner, Wizz Air, marks another step in diversifying the network of routes operated from Chișinău International Airport 'Eugen Doga'," emphasized Natalia Cojocaru, spokesperson for Chișinău International Airport. "This new air connection will facilitate direct travel between the Republic of Moldova and Bulgaria and will stimulate economic exchanges, tourism, and bilateral cooperation. We aim to offer passengers the most accessible travel options and strengthen the connections between the Republic of Moldova and European capitals."
