The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Bucharest: We do not see imminent risks for our security on the right bank of the Nistru
The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Romania, Victor Chirilă, states that the Moldovan authorities are monitoring the situation in the transnistrian region and that they have not found "imminent risks" regarding security.
"We are monitoring the situation in the Transnistrian region and everything is... we don't see anything special from what it was a few months ago. We see no imminent risks to our security on the right bank, we see no mobilization of forces. We continue to have dialogue with the representatives of the Transnistrian region, our sectoral working groups, some of them work to solve immediate, social problems of our citizens in the region. We know very well that the business community, so to speak, from the region, which is also connected to the economy on the right bank of the Republic of Moldova, but increasingly to the European space, does not want to be involved in the conflict and is open to dialogue and is doing everything possible not to escalate the situation in the Transnistrian region", said the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova, on Friday evening, to Euronews Romania. Victor Chirila mentioned that, although an attempt was made for a part of the society in the Transnistrian region to be turned against the Republic of Moldova, many young people from the region beyond the Nistru fled to the right bank in order not to participate in a possible conflict. "We don't see imminent risks, but that doesn't mean that we don't prepare for any scenario", emphasized Victor Chirilă.
