ELECTIONS 2025// CEC registered the list of candidates of the ALDE Party for the parliamentary elections

On Sunday, August 10, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) registered the list of candidates from the Political Party Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) for the position of deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. Additionally, an initiative group was registered to collect signatures in support of a candidate for the deputy position.

During the examination process, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) verified various documents related to the designation of candidates, including the composition of the body responsible for creating the candidate list, the biographical information of the candidates, their declarations of consent, declarations of assets and personal interests, as well as the designation of party representatives before the CEC and the person responsible for finances.

The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE) also presented its electoral symbol, which consists of the text “ALDE” in capital letters using the Rubic Bold Italic font, slightly tilted to the right and in black. Below this text appears the name “Arina Spătaru,” framed in a black rectangle. The symbol is monochrome, in black and white, and signifies the political affiliation of the candidates with the party led by Arina Spătaru.

The documents were submitted in two stages: on August 4, the president of ALDE, Arina Spătaru, submitted the file to the CEC headquarters. Subsequently, the 54 candidates listed appeared in person to sign the required forms per the regulations.

Initially, the CEC requested clarifications and corrections for certain inconsistencies. The party responded with the necessary answers and additional documents on August 8. Following a final review, the Commission determined that all 54 candidates met the requirements outlined in the Electoral Code and the related regulations for the nomination and registration of candidates. As a result, the list of candidates and the electoral symbol of ALDE were officially registered.

Additionally, the Commission registered an initiative group of 11 members to collect signatures in support of Oleg Bolotnicov as a candidate for deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, designated by the citizens' assembly. This initiative group will gather signatures from supporters until August 19, 2025.

To date, the CEC has registered candidates from three parties for participation in the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28: the Action and Solidarity Party, the Democracy at Home Party, and the Coalition Party for Unity and Welfare. Furthermore, independent candidate Andrei Năstase was also registered.

The central electoral authority also accepted registrations for the same election from two electoral blocs: the Electoral Bloc "Patriotic of Socialists, Communists, Heart, and Future of Moldova" and the Bloc "Impreuna".
