Artiom Livădari returns after World Games win, beating U.S. and China athletes

After a long day of work and celebration, Muay Thai fighter Artiom Livădari was given a warm welcome upon his return to the Republic of Moldova. The 23-year-old athlete achieved victory at the World Games in the Thai boxing event. At "Eugen Doga" International Airport in Chișinău, he was greeted with applause and flowers from supporters.
Future champions, along with Artiom Livădari's colleagues, decided to celebrate the gold medalist from the World Games held in China. They cheered him on through television and social media, sharing their excitement with the Moldovan athlete.
"I watched every fight with my family using the app. I am proud that we are both part of the same club. Artiom Livădari is promoting Moldovan sport, and I hope he will take it to the Olympic level," declared one of Artiom Livădari's colleagues.
"This victory is the result of his hard work. He is clearly improving," confessed another athlete who practices Thai boxing.
Artiom Livădari had a remarkable performance at the competition in Chengdu, China. On his way to the top of the podium in the 86-kilogram category, he defeated Croatian Vito Kosar, Chinese Jan Chenchen, and American Aaron Ortiz.
"I genuinely hope that Thai boxing will gain popularity in the Republic of Moldova. We have talented young athletes. I received a message stating that I was named the best Thai boxing fighter at this competition. Every child has the potential to surpass me," Artiom Livădari said.
"A sportsman from the Republic of Moldova took first place, one from the United States came in second, and one from China finished third. All of them listened attentively to our national anthem. The most important thing is that we have a fighting spirit, and without being modest, I can say that we have a solid foundation in this sport," said Andrei Grosu, one of Artiom Livădari's coaches.
This is not the first title in Artiom Livădari's career. He previously won gold medals at the 2023 European Games and the 2024 World Championships.
