Maia Sandu hails Trump-brokered South Caucasus reconciliation, stresses just peace in Ukraine
Moldovan President Maia Sandu expressed her appreciation for the recent advancements in the reconciliation process in the South Caucasus, which was mediated by former US President Donald Trump. She emphasized the importance of achieving a fair and lasting peace in Ukraine and throughout the entire region.
This firm position was expressed during a meeting with the new Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the United States in the Republic of Moldova, Nick Pietrowicz, as announced by the presidential administration.
The head of state acknowledged the continuous support that the United States has provided to Moldova over the past 30 years, particularly in the areas of energy, economic development, security, and combating hybrid threats.
"This support has been essential in strengthening our country's status," reads the press release from the Presidency.
Additionally, Maia Sandu reiterated the desire to deepen the strategic partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States for the benefit of both nations.
