Dan confirms Ukraine visit, talks peace with Zelenskyy

Romania's President, Nicușor Dan, announced on Tuesday that he spoke on the phone with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to convey the need for "a comprehensive and lasting peace in Ukraine."
Dan also accepted the Ukrainian president's invitation to visit Kyiv this autumn, according to Agerpres.
"Today, I had an in-depth phone discussion with President Zelenskyy. I presented my view that we need a comprehensive and lasting peace in Ukraine to stop Russia's daily atrocities. Romania supports President Trump's efforts to find a solution. Any agreement must be fair, lasting, and sustainable," the head of state wrote on Tuesday on the social media platform X.
According to the leader from Cotroceni, peace must be achieved, but Ukraine needs to be at the negotiation table.
"Romania supports the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine. As a neighbor and partner, Romania will continue to stand by Ukraine in its efforts to achieve a just peace for the Ukrainian people. The security of Ukraine is closely tied to the security of the Black Sea and Europe," Nicușor Dan stated.
