Leova–Bumbata border point will operate continuously for flexibility

Great news for travelers: Starting Friday, August 15, the Leova–Bumbata border crossing point will operate continuously, allowing crossings at any time of day. The new schedule will start tomorrow at 8:00 AM, as announced by the Customs Service.
The decision to implement a new operating schedule was made jointly by the customs and border authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Romania. This initiative aims to facilitate mobility and enhance comfort for citizens.
According to Alexandru Iacub, the Director of the Customs Service, the new 24-hour operating schedule provides greater predictability for travelers crossing this border section. One of the main benefits of this new schedule is the reduction of congestion at the crossing points.
Furthermore, representatives of the Customs Service believe that this change will offer travellers more freedom of movement and the ability to choose the most convenient time for crossing the border.
"The Leova–Bumbăta crossing point is the seventh on the segment with Romania that was opened in 2023. It aims to ease traffic on the main road corridors and support the reorientation of trade towards the European market", informs the Customs Service.
