Three Ukrainian planes flew over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova and landed at Mărculești International Airport. These flights were conducted with authorization from the relevant authorities, following prior coordination through diplomatic channels and in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. This clarification was provided by the Civil Aeronautical Authority (AAC) on Thursday, August 14.

According to the institution, the planes landed in Mărculești on the evening of Wednesday, August 13, for temporary storage and maintenance work at the request of the Ukrainian side.

"The temporary relocation of these planes is a result of an official request from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, submitted on July 21, 2025. This request concerns five planes used in humanitarian and emergency missions: one Antonov An-26, three Antonov An-32P, and one Antonov An-32B," explained the representatives of the AAC.

The placement of the planes at Mărculești International Airport was carried out under current legal provisions, which emphasize that these planes belong to the search and rescue category.
