Liverpool win thriller 4-2 on opening day

Defending champions Liverpool began their new Premier League campaign with a dramatic victory. The Reds defeated Bournemouth 4-2 in a thrilling encounter at Anfield.

New signing Hugo Ekitike opened the scoring in the 37th minute before providing a crucial assist for Cody Gakpo's goal early in the second half.

Bournemouth mounted a surprising comeback, with Antoine Semenyo scoring twice in just 12 minutes. The scores were level until the 88th minute, when substitute Federico Chiesa bagged a superb late winner.

Last season's PFA Player of the Year, Mohamed Salah, also found the back of the net in added time. The Reds have secured their first three points and are now preparing for a trip to Newcastle United for their next league match.
