Romanian President Nicușor Dan visits Chișinău for Romanian Language Day
Romanian President Nicușor Dan will visit Chișinău on Sunday, August 31, to celebrate Romanian Language Day with the citizens and the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu. The two leaders will take part in a series of cultural events dedicated to this national holiday.
The official program for the visit begins at 08:40 with a welcoming ceremony for the President of Romania at the State Residence in Chisinau.
At 10:00, the "Great National Dictation" event will take place in the Great National Assembly Square, where 2,000 participants will test their knowledge of the Romanian language.
Following this, the two presidents will travel to Straseni to lay flowers at the bust of the poet Mihai Eminescu in Chisinau.
The celebration of Romanian Language Day will continue at the House of Culture in Straseni, where a concert dedicated to the holiday will begin at 11:45.
