ELECTIONS 2025: Andrei Năstase unveils five “strict rules” for future Parliament

Independent candidate Andrei Năstase announced the launch of his electoral campaign on Friday, August 29. He is expected to appear fourth on the ballots in the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28, according to the order established by the Central Electoral Commission.
The former Minister of Interior and leader of the Dignity and Truth Platform has officially launched his electoral campaign with a poster shared on his Facebook page.
“I am running as I am: free, honest, and determined. This is the right way to do politics in a country where people no longer trust political parties,” he stated.
Andrei Năstase enters the campaign with the slogan “Your Voice in Parliament” and the motto “Faith! Courage! Competence!”
His electoral project includes strict rules for administration and finance, aiming for savings of 10 billion lei. This involves reducing the number of deputies and ministries, eliminating excessive salaries, and disbanding district councils.
In terms of judicial reforms, he proposes that the prosecutor general be elected by the people and advocates for life imprisonment for those guilty of grand corruption, treason, pedophilia, and drug trafficking.
Additionally, in the social sphere, Năstase proposes a minimum income guaranteed by the Constitution, a pension of at least 5,000 lei, increased child allowances, and a reduction in the prices of basic necessities.
The candidate also promises to support voting on open lists, encourage civic movement participation, and impose strict penalties for electoral fraud. For the diaspora, Năstase plans to exempt remittances and parcels up to 500 euros from taxes and to establish a National Development Fund involving Moldovans living abroad.
