ELECTIONS 2025: Action and Solidarity Party launches campaign — “At home, we decide our future”

The main objective of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) is the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union. On Friday, August 29, they launched their electoral campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections with the slogan "We are moving in the right direction: EU, peace, development." The event took place in the square of the "Maria Biesu" National Opera and Ballet Theater in the center of Chisinau and began with the singing of both the Anthem of the Republic of Moldova and the Anthem of the European Union.

Later, the candidates for deputy and supporters of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) watched a short video on large screens, featuring the voice of President Maia Sandu. The video highlighted key moments in the party's development, including the challenges it has faced over the years. These challenges culminated in the submission of the application for the Republic of Moldova's accession to the European Union and the successful attainment of candidate country status.

PAS President Igor Grosu referenced the sacrifices of great-grandparents and grandparents who endured hardships such as deportations and harsh living conditions. He noted that, "in silence and perhaps even in a whisper," they passed down "the values of dignity, faith, and the longing for freedom to future generations." Grosu also underscored the crucial role of the diaspora in Moldova's European journey.

"Our duty is to be the generation of European integration truly. And we will do this. I see many people from the diaspora here. (...) Everyone here has someone who has gone abroad. Everyone understands what this pain means. Therefore, we owe great respect to our diaspora, who know what it means to work honestly and to care for both their home and their country. The diaspora is with us! With PAS in Europe!", declared Grosu from the stage in front of the "Maria Biesu" National Opera and Ballet Theater.

He also aimed to send a message to the Kremlin regarding its interference in Moldova's internal politics: "At home, we decide how we build our lives!"

The participants at the event responded enthusiastically with chants like, "We do not give in!", "With PAS in Europe!", and "Moldova - Europe!" during the campaign launch.

Doina Gherman, the vice-president of Parliament and a PAS member, called for unity and emphasized the importance of maintaining the country’s path towards the European Union.

"Moldova is standing tall, and it is our duty to do everything in our power to keep it that way. Moldova is valued worldwide! We are truly respected and admired for our courage and determination. Wherever we go, we proudly hear that Moldovans are known for their humanity, hard work, and hospitality. We cannot and do not want to become an anonymous dot on the map again, known only for negative things. Enough—we are not going back to the past! Moldova is Europe!" declared Doina Gherman.

We remind you that PAS could appear in the top position on the ballots for the parliamentary elections on September 28.

The Action and Solidarity Party was founded on May 15, 2016, and in the 2021 parliamentary elections, it secured 63 deputy mandates, governing the Republic of Moldova for the past four years.
