ELECTIONS 2025: “Alternative” Bloc launches campaign — “We know how to change people’s lives”

The "Alternative" Electoral Bloc officially launched its campaign for the parliamentary elections on August 29, prior to the elections scheduled for September 28. The leaders and several dozen members of the bloc gathered in front of Parliament, emphasizing that their main objectives include revitalizing the national economy, reducing migration, and creating jobs with wages comparable to those in Europe.

"We will ensure justice for every citizen of the Republic of Moldova and defend the real interests of all people. We will protect and support both the young and the elderly, as well as those who are socially vulnerable. We have the experience, energy, and a governing program necessary to change people's lives now and build a better future," stated Ion Ceban, outlining the commitments of the "Alternative" Electoral Bloc.

Alexandr Stoianoglo emphasized that the mission of this electoral competitor is to unite all residents of the country, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or region.

"We will take care of the elderly and the youth. We will implement programs to support young families, motherhood, and children. We will ensure a dignified old age and promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. We aim to strengthen the country's economy. The law will apply equally to everyone, and we will carry out meaningful reforms in the judicial system. Our goal is to stop migration by providing everyone with comfortable living and working conditions at home, enabling them to earn European salaries in Moldova. Additionally, we will preserve peace in the Republic of Moldova and create the necessary conditions for development," Stoianoglo explained.

Ion Chicu pointed out that the country needs a parliament that serves all citizens, including investors, entrepreneurs, and farmers. He stressed that people expect a legislature that can foster genuine changes and reforms, providing incentives for development, encouraging initiatives, attracting investments, and addressing complex issues in energy, transport, finance, agriculture, industry, and other essential sectors of the economy.

“We need a parliament that can work alongside the Government, day by day, to implement incentives for a new economy and a higher standard of living. This is our goal, and we are all convinced that the time has come for Parliament to meet the expectations of every citizen of the Republic of Moldova,” Chicu emphasized.

Mark Tkaciuk, the fourth leader of the “Alternative” Bloc, stated that the aim of this electoral competitor is to demonstrate that the Republic of Moldova can become a united, developed, truly democratic, and prosperous nation.

“It is vital to find the political courage to make this important transition—from a Parliament of disorder and conflict to a Parliament of achievements. Just yesterday, this seemed impossible, but today it is clear that there is an alternative,” Tkaciuk declared.

It is noteworthy that the "Alternative" Electoral Bloc includes the National Alternative Movement Party, led by the mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban; the Party for the Development and Consolidation of Moldova, led by former Prime Minister Ion Chicu; the Civic Congress, led by Mark Tkaciuk, former deputy and advisor to former President Vladimir Voronin and former Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo.

The "Alternative" Electoral Bloc may be the eleventh electoral competitor on the ballots for the parliamentary elections on September 28, according to the campaign registration order established by the Central Electoral Commission.

The electoral campaign for the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28 officially began on August 29. So far, 21 electoral candidates, four blocs, 13 parties, and four independent candidates were registered.
