Ukraine: Russian drone strikes hit Odessa power plants

Russian drones have targeted four power plants in Ukraine’s southern Odessa region, leaving more than 29,000 people without electricity.
The city of Chornomorsk was the worst-hit, with homes and administrative buildings damaged, said regional governor Oleh Kiper. One person was injured, he added.
The chief of the Russian army has said Moscow will continue fighting on the front line and carrying out massive missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities, despite months of appearing to support US peace efforts.
Gen Gerasimov, the chief of the Russian armed forces, was quoted by the Russian Defence Ministry as saying the "full-scale invasion of Ukraine... will continue through offensive actions". He also added that the "tasks of the troop groups" would be clarified "for the autumn period", according to the Kyiv Independent.
His statement ridicules US President Donald Trump’s efforts to end the war, following extensions of a deadline to see if President Putin was serious about peace.
