Moldovan students start new academic year

Students in Moldova have returned to school today, 1 September, to start the 2025-2026 academic year.
Their parents and teachers are sharing in the excitement, and most schools are holding traditional ceremonies.
The Ministry of Education and Research has ordered a special lesson to mark the start of the new school year for all students in public and private schools and high schools nationwide. The mandatory lesson, entitled “The Values That Unite Us,” aims to promote social unity and cohesion.
Festive assemblies are being held in schoolyards, with students, teachers, and parents taking part in songs, poetry, and speeches. University students are also returning to lectures at campuses across the country today.
