Man sentenced for drug sales and hitting two officers with car

A 30-year-old man from Orhei was sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempting to sell nearly three kilograms of alpha-PVP, commonly known as "salt" drugs. This sentence comes after a criminal case was initiated by prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS).
The drugs were concealed in a wooded area near Taraclia, where the defendant was expected to collect them for transportation and distribution. However, law enforcement officers detected his plan and positioned themselves at the pick-up site.
According to prosecutors, after retrieving the package, the courier attempted to evade arrest and struck two police officers with his car, resulting in injuries that required hospitalization. The man was ultimately apprehended at the exit from Ceadir-Lunga heading towards Taraclia.
At the prosecutors' request, the court also ordered the confiscation of the vehicle, which was used as a tool to commit the crime.
