“I Sing to You, Homeland and Nation” Festival gathers 1,000 voices before Parliament

A thousand choir members gathered in Parliament Square to perform at the gala of the third edition of the "Te cânt, Patrie și Neam" (“I Sing to You, Homeland and Nation”) Festival. The concert featured choral and folk ensembles, along with soloists who were selected through a five-stage national audition process. The participants were accompanied by the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, conducted by Andriano Marian.

The event, which brought together talents from across the country, also marked the beginning of the parliamentary opening week, an annual event organized by the legislative institution.
"Through these songs, we encourage others to love their homeland and to sing about it."
"This festival urges citizens of the Republic of Moldova, as well as those in the diaspora, to remember their homeland and take pride in it."
"The goal of this event is to instill a love for the nation and country in the younger generation."

The festival aims to discover new talents. Among the laureates of this edition were the choirs "Divinitate" from Soroca and "Doina Codrului" from the village of Lozova in the Strășeni district, as well as ensembles from Drochia, Glodeni, Orhei, Nisporeni, Cahul, Leova, and Hâncești.
"This idea is not mine, but it came from maestro Victor Nevoie. About eight years ago, he said, 'Elena, let's organize this festival.' I thank him from the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of the entire country, for this wonderful idea he shared with us," says Elena Marian, the choir conductor and organizer of the festival.
"A people without patriotic songs is like a tree without leaves," emphasizes Victor Nevoie, the president of the jury.

The "Te cânt, Patrie și neam" festival took place within the "Access to Culture" program, funded by the Ministry of Culture.
