The Frenchies don't consider themselves favourites

The Sheriff's opponent tonight, OCG Nice, arrived in Chisinau with almost all their stars. The most famous of the French team's squad is the emblematic Brazilian defender Dante, former Bayern Munich player and member of the Brazilian national team.

Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and former Barcelona player Jean-Clair Todibo also trained at the Zimbru Stadium last night. Khéphren Thuram, the youngest son of legendary French defender Lilian Thuram, is also in the Nice squad. The big absentees from the French squad are Welshman Aaron Ramsey and Ivorian on loan from Arsenal London, Nicolas Pepe.

Nizza are considered favourites for the double-header with Sheriff Tiraspol in the Conference League last 16, but the French have confessed they will have a tough task in this clash.

"We came to Moldova confident in our own strength. But that's not enough. We don't have as much experience in European cups as Sheriff has in recent years. But we have made titanic efforts to get here and we will not give up," said the coach of the French team, Didier Digard

"As the coach said, this clash is of great importance for our club and for the whole country. We have come a long way to reach this stage of the competition", said full-back Dante

The match FC Sheriff Tiraspol - Olympique Gymnaste Club Nizza will be played at the Zimbru stadium in Chisinau this evening starting at 19:45.
