Families in Ialoveni receive EcoVoucher financial support

The EcoVoucher caravan visited Ialoveni, where residents discovered how to access financial support for replacing their old household appliances with new, energy-efficient models. Information campaigns like this are being organized in all district centers.

This is the situation with the old refrigerator: when it was connected simultaneously with the new one, it recorded a consumption of 1.3 kW, while the new energy-efficient model consumed only about 0.55 kW. The difference is significant.
Employees of the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED) have been working to encourage residents of Ialoveni to replace their old household appliances with newer ones. Pensioners and families with many children can benefit from vouchers as part of this initiative.
According to Ion Muntean, director of CNED, “People are automatically identified and receive an SMS or a message in their personal account on compensatii.gov.md, where they can find information about the voucher, including the redemption period and partner stores. They can go to these stores with just their ID card and a photo of the old appliance to redeem the voucher.”
The voucher is valued at 6,000 lei but cannot exceed 70% of the cost of the new equipment purchased. “The voucher is only available for one piece of equipment, and the family can decide how to use these 6,000 lei—either for a washing machine or a refrigerator,” Muntean adds.
Residents of Ialoveni have expressed interest in the program. One resident shared, “My brother received a large washing machine last year, and he was very happy. It's a wonderful donation.”
Another resident said, "It's great that people know they can upgrade. For example, if they have an old refrigerator and want a new one, they can put in some money along with the voucher. I really respect this initiative; it's wonderful that we have something like this in our country.”
A third resident noted, “A few years have passed since we've been using these appliances. Technology constantly evolves, so why not change them? They need to be replaced.”

The EcoVoucher program was introduced in October last year. So far, over 35,000 families have acquired new home appliances through it.
