Ten individuals were detained for 72 hours as a result of operations conducted by the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) and prosecutors from Bălți. This action is part of a complex investigation targeting the illegal financing of political parties, money laundering, and voter corruption in relation to the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28, 2025.

According to the CNA, a total of 28 searches were conducted at the homes, offices, and vehicles of individuals and legal entities nationwide. As a result, officers seized significant amounts of money in various currencies, electronic storage devices, draft documents, and other materials relevant to the investigation.

Evidence suggests that decision-makers affiliated with a political party, along with its members and supporters, allegedly devised a criminal scheme to recruit voters. It is claimed that individuals were promised money, goods, or services in exchange for casting their votes in favor of the targeted party.

Investigators also documented suspicious transactions involving money and virtual currencies that were used to conceal the illicit source of the funds.

The total amount involved will be determined during the ongoing investigation.

Since the start of the current election campaign, law enforcement officers have conducted approximately two thousand searches and filed several criminal cases related to electoral corruption.

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Daniella Misail-Nichitin, some of the most common documented violations include the organization of paid protests, disobeying police requests, and violating assembly legislation. These provocations are designed to overwhelm law enforcement agencies.

Misail-Nichitin stated that law enforcement institutions will continue to act "coordinatedly and without hesitation" to prevent electoral corruption, sanction paid protests, and combat any attempts to destabilize the democratic process.
