Illegal weapons seized in Orhei: Two men documented
Two men from the Orhei district were arrested by police for illegal possession of weapons. Following searches at their homes, law enforcement officers discovered the prohibited items, as reported by the General Inspectorate of Police (IGP).
Two pneumatic weapons, 153 4.5 mm metal bullets, a smooth-bore long gun, and five cartridges were discovered in the home of a 59-year-old man.
In another case, a weapon and 16 metal bullets were found in the residence of a second man living in the village of Brănești.
The police conducted checks in the State Register of Weapons and confirmed that neither of the two men, nor their family members, are registered as legal owners of any firearms.
The seized items were sent for examination to the Technical-Forensic and Judicial Expertise Center of the IGP.
According to the IGP, the individuals involved will be investigated in accordance with current legislation.
