FCSB held to frustrating draw by Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc
FCSB's inconsistent run continues in the Romanian Superliga after the reigning champions drew 1-1 away against last-place Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc on Matchday 9.
The capital side took the lead in the 55th minute when Malcom Edjouma scored following a corner by Florin Tănase.
The home side also equalised from a corner with nine minutes to go. Brazilian forward Anderson Ceara delivered a cross which Alexandru Pantea unfortunately put into his own net. Immediately after conceding, Cypriot coach Elias Charalambus's side went on the offensive, but goalkeeper Eduard Pap made a string of key saves to deny Vlad Chiricheș, Mamadou Thiam, and Octavian Popescu.
"There are so many things that aren't working. We need a few consecutive wins to turn our morale and maybe our luck around," said Bucharest midfielder Mihai Lixandru.
Following the draw, FCSB are 12th in the league table with just seven points, and sit 16 points adrift of leaders CS Universitatea Craiova.
