ELECTIONS 2025 // Separatist leader spotted in "Alternative" Bloc campaign in Chișinău

Oleg Chisnicean, a separatist leader from the Transnistrian region, is reportedly campaigning for the "Alternative" Bloc in Chisinau. The Security Zone platform's editorial staff reported that he was spotted in one of the party's electoral tents, where he was distributing campaign materials.

Chisnicean is a deputy in the Camenca District Council. Previously, he led the “Obnovlenie” branch in Camenca, a party linked to the “Şerif” holding and Victor Gușan. He also collaborated with deputy Porfirie Șchilniuc, the former deputy director of the “Şerif” company, who is accused of involvement in cigarette smuggling.

Currently, Chisnicean is employed at the Trolleybus Park No. 1 in Chișinău, a position confirmed by the Chișinău Electric Transport Company.

In the campaign for the parliamentary elections on September 28, the “Alternative” Bloc is advocating for a special status for the Transnistrian region within the Republic of Moldova, emphasizing the respect for human rights, the demilitarization of the area, and the transformation of the peacekeeping operation into an international mission. Additionally, the bloc’s electoral program states that the European integration of the Republic of Moldova should occur "with the involvement of the Transnistrian region."

Representatives of "Alternative" did not respond to calls from Teleradio-Moldova regarding the participation of a separatist leader in the party’s electoral campaign, which promotes the reunification and European integration of the Republic of Moldova.
