National Wine Day 2025: 106 Moldovan wineries gather in Chisinau in early October

The 24th edition of National Wine Day will take place on October 4 and 5, gathering 106 wineries, including 43 small local producers. Visitors can look forward to tastings, authentic stories, and cultural experiences. The event will be held at the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau.

Under the slogan "Wine of Moldova. Unexpectedly Great", this year's edition of National Wine Day showcases a record number of participants and highlights the millennia-old traditions of winemaking, national identity, and wine excellence in Moldova.

"National Wine Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the legends and wine heritage of our nation, recognize the achievements of Moldovan winemakers, and connect with the wine community. This holiday not only promotes Moldovan Wine but also aims to enhance public knowledge and education about our wine – a source of national pride – and to encourage the responsible consumption of quality wines," said Ștefan Iamandi, the director of the National Vine and Wine Office.

For the first time this year, the Taster's Book – the access ticket for wine evaluations – will be available exclusively in digital format. This initiative is designed to reduce paper consumption and make the celebration more sustainable.

The program for the 24th edition of National Wine Day will feature various activities, including Wine School – interactive sessions with certified sommeliers and tasters; Peasant Court – workshops on folk crafts, dances, and traditions; and Wine Tours—opportunities to explore Moldova's wineries and vineyards.

The event is organized by the National Office of Vine and Wine in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Ministry of Culture, UMAEF (Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund), and other partners.
