Ukraine sanctions Moldovan politicians over pro-Russia links

Ukraine has imposed sanctions on 11 politicians and activists in Moldova, its official presidency website says.
"Among those targeted are Vasile Bolea, who promotes Russian foreign policy in the media, and Dmitrii Konstantinov, the president of the Gagauzian People's Assembly, who has openly repeated Russian propaganda narratives. This decision sends an important signal of support for the people of Moldova on their path toward European integration," the cited source emphasised.
The list, signed by President Zelensky, also includes Victoria Furtună, leader of the 'Greater Moldova' Party; deputies Constantin Starîș and Bogdan Țîrdea of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists; Evghenia Guțul, the governor of Gagauzia; Ion Mahu, a former employee of the Information and Security Service; Victor Petrov, a deputy in the Gagauzian People's Assembly; Iurie Ciofu, leader of a veterans' organisation; Natalia Parasca, leader of the Rebirth Party; and Igor Șornikov, an analyst from the Transnistrian region.
The measures include commercial and financial restrictions and a ban on entry into Ukraine. The sanctions will last for 10 years, with the possibility of being extended indefinitely.
The official Ukrainian presidency website also noted the measures were coordinated with international partners and were designed to block Russian resources, protect human rights in occupied territories, and counter Russian propaganda.
