Taraclia Cultural Festival celebrates unity in diversity

Taraclia, a city known for its diverse population, hosted a cultural festival this weekend, bringing together dozens of folklore groups from Moldova and neighbouring countries.

National costumes, songs and dances, traditional food and authentic crafts were on display at the "Unity in Diversity" Ethnic Festival.

The event featured traditional crafts, parades by folklore groups and artistic performances. Participants also took the opportunity to reconnect with friends and family.

It's my third time here. I love the atmosphere, and everyone is so welcoming.

We are showcasing our village’s traditions. I'm a folk artisan; I make all kinds of handmade items, including flowers.

We represent Bulgarian culture. We embroider, weave and process wool, just as our ancestors did. This is our way of keeping our Bulgarian traditions alive. Our ensemble is called 'We Are Young,' and we sing Bulgarian songs.

The festival is a demonstration that unity can exist regardless of differences in language, ethnicity and culture.

"The festival has become an important part of cultural life in the Republic of Moldova and Taraclia district," said the Taraclia district president, Lazari Dermenji. "It continues to grow and attract participants from neighbouring countries."
