Moldova elections 2025: Moldova 1 kicks off first live debate
Moldova 1, the public broadcaster, is launching its election debates ahead of the parliamentary elections on 28 September. The debates will air daily from Sunday, 21 September, to Friday, 26 September, at 19:00.
The participating candidates were invited based on a formula that calculates the average of their performance in the last parliamentary elections, the 2023 general local elections, and the results of the last three voting intention polls conducted by three different companies before the start of the election period.
Each participating candidate can be accompanied by up to 18 supporters.
The first round, which takes place today, will feature independent candidates running in the election: Andrei Năstase, Olesea Stamate, Victoria Sanduța, and Tatiana Crețu.
The statements of participants will be fact-checked in real-time by a group of experts, before being analysed during a live "fact-checking session" dubbed "Checkaton."
