Teen dies in Rezina ATV–car crash

A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 16-year-old minor on September 21 at approximately 2:10 p.m. The incident happened on the access road to Păpăuți village in the Rezina district.
According to the press officer for the region, Elena Băetrău, a teenager was driving an ATV without a driver's license when he went the wrong way on a dangerous curve and collided head-on with a Peugeot car that was travelling legally.
The young man was transported in serious condition to the Rezina District Hospital and admitted to intensive care. Unfortunately, due to the severity of his injuries, the doctors were unable to save his life. The driver of the car was tested with a Dräger device, and the result was negative for alcohol.
The police are urging parents and guardians not to allow minors to operate ATVs, motorcycles, or any other vehicles on public roads. Law enforcement officials warn that a lack of experience and disregard for traffic rules, combined with speed, can lead to tragic accidents like this.
